Yasuto Ohara

The pianist may be the finest mainstream player , he remainds you why you listen to jazz in the first place.

Born in Fukuoka Japan , he had learnt classical piano from three to eighteen.
He was inspired by Jhon Coltrane , and started his career as a jazz pianist.

Having performed either as a group or indivisually in N.Y., Europe , China , Thailand ,and NewZealand ,he is now stepping up his careers to entertain in world wide.

His performing style is energetic , swinging and lyrical.
Forming his own " Super Jazz Trio " , released CD, 『AUTUMN LEAVES』『YASUTO OHARA Live in Eighty-One club』.
He performed at MJF 1997, and released CD `Live at MJF' which won a great applause.

His distinctiv improvisations is so prominent that he has huge popularity.

He will perform at MONTREUX JAZZ FESTIVAL on July 14th 2004 at Casino Barriere , be supported by Shigeo Aramaki (bass) and Akira Igawa (drum). This hightly talented Japanese Trio is making it's second visit to Switzerland .
